Cal Poly slips past Nevada into Region 1 final

Lindsey Palmer threw a two-hit shutout for Cal Poly, striking out seven batters and moving to 13-7 on the year as the Mustangs squeaked past Nevada, 1-0.
 
Chelsea Convissar drove in the game’s only run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning that brought home Shawna McDonough. Crimson Kaiser also had two hits.
 
Nevada sophomore Kali Sargent pitched very well for the Wolfpack, allowing four hits and no walks.
 
Cal Poly will play for the Region 1 title on Thursday, facing either Nevada or Pacific. Cal Poly will get to play twice if it loses the first game in the double-elimination format.
