LYNCHBRUG, VA – A single run in the first inning was all Ohio needed to veer past UNC Wilmington on Thursday morning to secure their spot in the Liberty Regional final.

Madison Claytor dialed up the eventual game-winning double for the Bobcats. The catcher was also walked and hit by a pitch in her two other at-bats. Danielle Stiene spun a masterful game in the circle. Stiene went the full seven innings, gave up zero hits and struck out nine in the win.

Sarah Davis did everything that was asked of her for the Seahawks. Davis equaled Stiene’s seven innings. One run was all that separated the two performances.

Ohio now earns the right to play Liberty for the regional championship slated at 1 p.m. ET. The Bobcats will need  to knock off the Flames twice to secure a spot in the NISC championship round.
