UNCW rides big inning past Iona

UNCW rolled to five runs in the fourth inning to gain control, and pitchers Sarah Davis and Haley Lenderman combined efforts to keep the Seahawks moving through the Region 6 loser’s bracket with a 6-2 victory over Iona.
 
Kali Jones and Lauren Moore each had two hits for UNCW; Davis got the win and moved to 16-7 on the season.
 
Iona scored one run in the third inning and one in the sixth, with Katie Newton and Tori Danner each driving in a run.
 
UNCW will play Ohio on Thursday, with the winner facing host Liberty for a chance at the Region 6 title.
